The Poetry of Place Issue

Fall 2014 - Winter 2015

About the cover:

Sometimes small forces can have great impacts. And sometimes one bored kid tapping on his desk can start something wonderful—say, awakening an underground flower monster, capable of summoning all the world’s missing honeybees. Ridiculous? I’ll keep fidgeting in my chair, just in case.

We distilled short phrases from each poem to treat graphically as luggage tags, loosely representing a journey from one poet’s world to another. Our tags are less souveniers, more the ephemera you end up with after a good trip—impressionistic and fun.

We wanted this cover, and the issue, to be vibrant and accessible; easy to get into, easy to come back to.
